I always love a colourful staircase and my own basement stairs are painted in 'Theatre Red' by Little Greene. When I came across this photo it just reminded me of that. I used 'India Yellow' on the walls to the basement and the red and on the door I used 'Charleston Grey'. The three colours, although dark, oddly look very warm and inviting and the basement doesn't look like a cold dingy place.
