One Battle After Another (2025)

Tuesday, 30 September 2025

Bob is a washed-up revolutionary who lives in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited and self-reliant daughter, Willa. When his evil nemesis resurfaces and Willa goes missing, the former radical scrambles to find her as both father and daughter battle the consequences of their pasts.

Review: An extremely overhyped, pointless pile of rubbish. It is wildly off the mark, with only a handful of funny moments (and when one of the “highlights” of the film is the car chase, you know they’re really stretching it. It’s decent, but it comes right at the end and isn’t remotely spectacular or mind-blowing).

I think Leonardo DiCaprio is not original here; he’s simply playing a “nervous” character. A few scenes are amusing, but it’s hardly worth sitting through nearly three hours at the cinema. I don’t know what the professional critics are smoking, but honestly, this film is truly awful. If you really want to see it, wait until it shows up on streaming for free, then speed-watch it—you’re not missing out on a cinematic masterpiece.
