Review: I never watched the original series (since this is a remake) and decided to check it out. It’s at best okay, but otherwise I don’t really see the point of it. The cast has absolutely no chemistry, and there’s supposedly some tension between DI Lynley and his boss, but we never find out why. Everyone just seems to hate one another, and they simply… exist. The mysteries aren’t mind-blowing, the scenery is fine, but overall I’m not sure what the show is trying to achieve. I watched it because of someone else, but I didn’t find it engaging, and the stories felt standard and blandl Honestly, I don’t think it would be a crime if this were cancelled.
